My favorite Twilight Zone episode. Oh the irony.
when they make one that’s silent and outdoor proof, I might get one to pull weeds in the garden. No THAT would be useful. Something like this will replace a lot of human labor pretty soon and then watch out. Idle hands...
Anyone who thinks they really need that crap is susceptible to being manipulated into throwing their money away in other ways too. The possibilities are endless.
Worse is what happens the day it says “brains!”
Amazon is almost as evil as Google/Alphabet.
But it’s a tight race.
The dog would love it. So would the cats.
I’d pay $800 for one that will do laundry, vacuum, mop, clean bathtubs, order groceries and then put them away. If it can’t do all that and more I have no use for it. Streaming music, checking the weather, etc. is not so hard I can’t poke a few buttons and do it myself.
A week later, my wife's WORK ADDRESS gets a congratulatory email from the dealer.
It's like being menaced by an incompetent stalker.
You can gunk up the works by actively searching on Amazon or Google for products you have no intention of buying, then clicking on the popup ads which show up shortly thereafter as “inappropriate”.
OMG!!! That's it. You've boiled it down to it's perfect essence.
Why Google is reading your Docs
About using Google Docs and privacy (there is none).
I have tape on mine too...
Turn around and there it is blocking your path?

Get the ‘Ghetto’ version for a true life experience.
I used to get ‘lonely’ driving and make a couple of wrong turns so I could ‘talk’ to my GPS.
I know their tone NEVER changes but I swear sometimes it sounds like they are calling you a ‘dumb SOB’ for making a mistake...
Make a U Turn now...at first sounds pleasant
BUT (LIKE HUMANS)
After 5 or 6 times ‘she’ sounds like a shrew and it reminds me why I am driving alone to start with.....
Permissionless data slurping: Why Google’s latest bombshell matters (Are You in Control?)
complete with photos of all your valuable items...
what could possibly go wrong?
My dogs do that for free.. I am amazed I have not gone over yet.
Thanks! That was fun. Amazon actually has keywords Ickle and Snot.
“Inviting something into your house that can eavesdrop on you?”
That’s why I don’t use a ‘smart’ phone. It’s no secret what they can do remotely.
Good stuff on Google. I was enjoying reading that other thread until it got yanked. I know you have the folding@home list but do we have a privacy/data/google/fb ping list?
