Using real energy to mine fake currency. It’s the 21st century version of the Tulip Craze.

>>“Bitcoin could potentially switch to such a consensus algorithm, which would significantly improve sustainability,” he claimed. “The only downside is that there are many different versions of proof-of-stake, and none of these have fully proven themselves yet.”

There isn’t even proof of sustainability or man-made global warming yet.

Pyramid/Ponzi scheme, the early players in the game got to “mine” the easier coins.

The days of “home Bitcoin CPU/GPU mining” are over...ASIC mining in areas with low price per KWH dominates (China, Iceland. Washington St.). I did some CPU/GPU mining “back in the day” (2011-2013’ish).

Bitcoin energy consumption had risen by almost 30 percent in the last month. Based on that rate of growth, Bitcoin electricity consumption will overtake the U.S. by July 2019 and the world by 2020.

Twain writes someplace about people calculating the same way concerning the shrinkage of the Mississippi Delta being projected and that in so many years New Orleans and St. Louis will be electing a common board of alderman.

Lies, damned lies, and statistics.

The whole thing is explosive fairy dust that will detonate leaving only the smart scammers who get out in time.

Do people even read what they write?

“No, but I’ll be happy to sell you a bunch of tulip bulbs for the same price per bulb”

I planted mine a couple of months ago. They will look really nice in May.
I thought about planting some bit-tulips but they required a cord to run to them for power.

Exponential growth in energy usage?? If that is literally true this whole thing cannot go on a lot longer.... mere efficiencies however sought will be overwhelmed by exponential growth.

"Based on that rate of growth, Bitcoin electricity consumption will overtake the U.S. by July 2019 and the world by 2020."

Do they really think they’ve reinvented or about to replace money with this Bitcoin stuff? How preposterous is that?

I hear that the mining of di-hydrogen monoxide will be the next big thing! It is a VERY valuable and essential commodity.

It seems like a pyramid sceme.

So I bought a small amount early and plan to cash out (cash in) before the bottom drops out.

I’m predicting just prior to the 2020 elections.

I’m up 150% in profits right now. Bitcoin, Etherium and Litecoin all up over 100% since I bought them.

Unintended consequences. This could have major long-term implications, I think.
