Is this the guy who bought the Cadillac or the one who bought his wife a mink?

Neither. Both of those guys got whacked.

>>He wasn’t sentenced for the crime he was acquitted of. He was sentenced for a different, more recent, crime.

“... a judge cited evidence of his role in it while sentencing him...”

It WAS a factor in the sentencing.

I’d guess that there’s more crooked, thieving mobsters in the federal judiciary than in the Mafia.

"Remember, this “road rage” involved setting a car on fire. Eight years for a carefully planned arson seems about right. "

All he had to do was claim he was a French moslem with cultural rights.

Henry Hill said before he died that no one involved in the heist was still alive. Asaro was acquitted, after all. From what I could find, he wasn’t portrayed at all in the Goodfellas movie.

The judge said she reviewed evidence from the trial she had presided over and cited proof Asaro had participated in a 1969 murder and had admitted his role and obtained jewelry from the armed robbery of more than $6 million in cash and jewelry from the Lufthansa terminal.

This was in the story, and looks like it might have been used in sentencing, but it's not really clear.
I wondered why the judge would use it if he was found not guilty ? Sentenced by the same judge that presided over the trial in which he was found not guilty ?...beautiful.
