How niggardly of them...................
Just to be safe, outlaw Spanish as a language. /sarc
Unlike English, there actually is a governing board that makes the rules that direct how the Spanish language is spoken and written.
I'm sure they'll be bitchin' about the Rio Negro next ...
I dont think Negro was used as a term of disparagement. Its not the current preferred adjective but it wasnt a particular insult.
Well at least she didn't include this picture with the tweet
I once had a black dog named Blackie.
Boy was I a racist. To this day I still feel so guilty.
Rename the dog RGB (0,0,0).
I’ve been to the fabric district in L.A. YES, they do say “negro” as black when my GF was buying black satin and chiffon. It is what it is.
“the word, which has been used to disparage black people in America,”
WUT
Perpetually offended people are themselves highly offensive.
Blacks use the word to describe worthless men in baggy pants. It is apparently trademarked so other cultures are unable to use it.
Once again,
Twitter.
Put Twitter in the rear view mirror. No good comes of this site. Even when people argue that there is good, there is no good.
There are people that you want to hear from, they should blog and you should subscribe. They should publish and you should read. Twitter is all of those, and none of those.
Black in Spanish is negro. There is no Spanish word for n....r. And negro is not a word used in America to disparage black people.
Clearly she should have named it Perro de color.
Of course they do!
Spanish is a LATIN derived language, as is Italian and Portuguese, French, Romanian, and Catalan.
It would be like somebody telling English speaker we need to get rid of the word ‘black’ because it offends them.....................
I had a black lab named Sambo. And nobody cared.
