The lakers can always release him. Two more years of prospective replacements to look at. I am sure the statements of this dad have the NBA owners quaking in their skyboxes.

Are there 11 or 12 men in an NBA team? Basketball team rosters are much smaller than other sports. No way any NBA team would fill 3 spots with them.

So he wants affirmative action for his sons in the sense that they’re not of that caliber - got it. What a pain he is.

If he doesn't wake up, soon, he will ruin his sons lives and lose them. For what? An NBA career that could be over in an instant if you don't produce or get injured? LaVar will never have a greater gift than his sons, and he owes them so very much more.

That's horrible. She was an athlete. what happened? LaVar Ball is only ~50 years old. She can't be much older, or might be younger. What were her risk factors for a stroke? Tragic, for her and for her sons.

Any team owner that wants this cancer and his three spawn has got to be suicidal. Oh, please let the Mavs be interested.

Don’t know the whole story, but it took away her ability to talk for awhile and she walks with a cane....

Lavar may be a loud mouth SOB,but the devotion to his wife is real..He has even missed some of his kids games taking care of his wife...

Best thing LaVar did for UCLA was take his kids to Europe. Steve Alford must be really relieved.

Take your Balls and go home. Who is he to dictate what the Lakers decide who plays for their team. Scrooge his little shoplifting brood of Ball punks.

There are currently 8 sets of brothers playing in the NBA. Steph Curry's brother Seth was even picked up by Golden State... for 6 pre-seasons games, then got waived.

The Gasol brothers are obviously the best sibling basketball tandem outside of Reggie and Sheryl Miller, but they never played on the same NBA team... just the National team for Spain, winning numerous medals in FIBA and the Olympics.

Lonzo Ball rookie season stats:

1 sprained shoulder, 1 sprained MCL... missing 19 of the Laker's 55 game already (injury prone at a young age is not a good sign)

His 48% Free Throw shooting is worse than Shaq's abysmal career 52%, and it ranks 443rd of the NBA's 460 players who have taken a FT attempt. (Lonzo was only 68% in college, which isn't strong for a shooter, but not horrid... but nothing explains the huge 20-point drop in unopposed FTs at the pro level.)

His 35.6% FG% is #429 in the NBA this season...

His 30.3% 3PT% is #294 in the NBA this season.

His 34 minutes per game is #33 in the entire NBA...

His 2.7 turnovers per game is #26 in the NBA...

in other words, he's getting every opportunity possible, and he still cannot score, and cannot protect the Ball.

(To be fair, his 7.1 assists per game is #9 in the NBA... he dishes well... but he is #50 in assist-to-turnover ratio... so he's not a starting-quality point guard by that measure either, and barely a decent bench-quality PG.)

I wonder if LaVar ever coughed up the money to pay off his large bill to the silk screening Company that printed up his Big Baller Brand t-shirts. It was big news in the local Chino/Chino Hills CA. paper a while back. What a Con man if there ever was one. I have no doubt old LaVar is a bit nervous that his meal ticket Son Lonzo has been out injured for a few weeks and the Lakers are now playing there best ball of the year without him.

“This is utter lunacy, no NBA team will want all 3.”

Correction...

This is utter lunacy, no NBA team will want all 4. (The pain in the ass father is part of the deal too)

...which would be honest work, and a step up, in a way, from living in the nutty old man’s shadow.
