Arming qualified staff sounds like an OK idea.
Another idea being kicked around, and is being used in some places, is having the local P.D. establish a satellite office in every school — an actual Police Department Office. I think a TX PD did this last week.

First, I'm tired of Black people who have become wealthy off the entertainment dollars of Whites bitching about racism. Second it's beyond hypocritical of all the Hollywood leftists that have become filthy rich off of movies loaded with gun violence to come out against guns. They rail against the so called gun culture they glorify! The very people most infatuated with the gun violence they promote are not law abiding citizens!
How idiotic does a person have to be to overlook the basic reality of the situation?
When someone does an armed robbery in a bank, no one calls for gun control.
Banks often have armed security or police officers at their locations.
Sam Jackson is protected by guns.
The president is protected by guns.
The murdered kids at this school were supposed to be protected by guns, but the officers whose job it was to protect them... the first responders, were a bunch of cowards.
Schools can be protected with improved security systems that include metal detectors and security cameras. But the most critical aspect of a security plan is people with guns who are responsible to stop gun crimes. These can be police, security guards, faculty, or ordinary citizens.
Gun control will not reduce violence. It will increase it.
