At 7:37 p.m. Feb. 24 the mother of nine had called 911...

"...thinking the driver of the paper-tagged maroon Ford Explorer was intoxicated."

She called to report an intoxicated driver. Did she call to report she was being followed, stalked, a victim of road rage, whatever it was?

How would I know? You asked if she called 911, and I quoted you the part of the excerpt that said she had.

**remake of “Duel.”**

One of the most pathetic “thriller” movies ever made.

It shows a semi tanker displaying “flammable” labels, laboring to climb hills and mountains, where the car should have been long gone during those times. The car later overheats, puking out a couple gallons of coolant, but somehow doesn’t get hot during remainder of the chase. In the end the tanker rams the car (minus the suddenly courageous Dennis Weaver character), the car is burning, and both vehicles go over a cliff, tumbling down a steep rocky slope, but somehow the trailer or truck tanks don’t rupture and burn.

I guess Spielberg was the director, and that film gave him a big boost.

I was about 20 at the time, and remember laughing and making fun of it throughout. 43 yrs later,
I still hear truck drivers making fun of that movie whenever someone mentions it.

Yeah, it would be a grabber, wouldn't it. They'd have to make it a longer drive, though, and add some rear-end bumping. . .

Yes, and instead of an Explorer, the chase vehicle could be a large 18-wheeler. Lots of terrain could be covered with various, harrowing scenes of near death, followed by Becca luring the truck into following her onto a mountain road and then, finally, around a sharp turn, the truck loses control and lunges over the hillside to his death on the desert floor below. What a Duel it would be.

Stuff of my nightmares. I'd remember that for years.

Hey, it's a movie! It's not supposed to be realistic, or anything. I picked up on a lot of those details, too, when I first saw it.
