One thing that has always puzzled me was how he lost re-election after he had just lead GB through WW2. Amazing actually.

Churchill was the compromise candidate when he became prime minister. He deviated greatly from what had been happening before the war and drove the British Commonwealth mercilessly to win the war. Churchill was heroic, but he was not that popular.
At the end of the war, before it was even over really, the Brits simply resumed their pre-war priorities and elected Labour which put forth Attlee for PM.
The UK did NOT get into its current state overnight. They have been working on it since the 1920s.

Probably Churchill would have answered him, “yes I was the worst war criminal, except for all the others”.
I truly despise these one sided, bitter, ungrateful, revisionists who in the name of “historical accuracy” present and emphasize only the worst of a person, ignoring the much greater good they’ve done, and judging them according to current mores. He’s a Nigerian, not a British, perhaps he could tell us a bit about the atrocities his wonderful country has and is committing.

Okay. I am always in favor of seeking out additional historical information so as to provide a balanced picture of historical figures.
Thanks for the info yet I cannot imagine tossing the guy who just led country through the war. As you say GB was on the march downward since the 20’s.
Just recently, I was reading about Operation Catapult (July 1940), which was when the British seized or destroyed much of the French fleet after the surrender of France. Churchill had brass balls to try and pull that off against an ally and I doubt any other British leader at the time would have attempted to do so. Taking this move kept the French fleet out of German hands and helped ensure that the British Navy would continue to rule the seas.
Remember, this was a time when England was all alone against the German colossus. The United States was still over a year from even entering the war. Churchill almost single-handedly held off the Nazis from dominating all of Europe during that 1940-42 period.
World War 2 had plenty of war criminals. Churchill was decidedly not one of them.
There's a lot of that going around.
