Once the tourists leave, September thru February, it’s really nice here..............The snow birds don’t make a ruckus like college kids do..................

Well, I've never been to Spain;
But I've been to Oklahoma;
Not Arizona, but Oklahoma;
I remember, I remember.
Close without Googling? Funny thing is, I lived in Rota, Spain for 3 years during Navy shore duty 79-81. Very friendly people back then.

We spent 5 days on Capri a few years ago. It’s an incredibly expensive place to visit. We had belinis at one of the pricier hotels and they were $25 dollars apiece. It is, however, a magical island. We were there in September and it wasn’t overrun by tourists.

The attitude in mom’s town in Montana was “Why do they call it ‘Tourist Season’ if we can’t shoot them?”
fortunately, having family, a checkbook for a local bank and a truck to borrow with local plates (mid 80’s Ford 250) no one pegged me for a Californian.

The mayor of the island just off Naples said with two million tourists a year the destination could explode from the weight of visitors. I thought it would tip over.

No, have not been to Oklahoma.... (I cannot tell a lie.. Arizona seemed to work, and I have been there.)
I think I counted, a couple weeks ago, and have been in about 31 of the states. We might try a trip to Virginia later this year; have not been there yet.

The title was misleading though. I didn’t find any quotes indicating a need for a “crack down”. They simply want a find a way to make the crowds more manageable.

I’ve been to Italy and the officials (museum ticket sellers, ect) apparently have never been educated in customer service. They are downright rude and it is very clear they don’t like tourists.
But I still love Italy. Not for the people but for the rich history and beauty of it all.
