Do you know the population numbers of ‘pitbulls’ compared to other breed/types?

Running loose with the owners not paying attention.
My suggestions:
Folks need to realize their right to own a dog ends just before the point it infringes on other’s rights.
Containing and controlling your dog are two of the principles of responsible dog ownership.
Most towns have leash laws or rules against free-roaming dogs. Animal Control must rigorously and effectively respond to these type of offenses.
The penalty for breaking the law should have teeth, should be substantial enough in the first instance to cause the owner to change his behavior or modify his containment strategy.
A second event, temporary removable of the dog, with an option for the owner to plead his case before either a judge or adjudicator.
Too often a lackadaisical and ineffective response by AC results in a return visit to clean up after an attack.
I do not remember seeing mentions of bear spray in use, and had better return to look again. The container is smaller - have you had occasion to use in in a dog attack, or know of someone who has? Is it the pepper spray, or some sort of capsaicin, or tear gas? Any information might help. Thank you.

I am aware of the problems with the “temperament tests”.
This VDF sounds desirable. I do not know if it is possible. Allow me to think about it, and return to the subject when I have done so. About a week, most likely. Thank you.

Bear spray you can get at sporting stores, where hunting is featured.
Did you report these incidents and if so what were the repercussions and if you didn’t, why not??
