Not sure how this would work with a heavy gun, even an officer model 1911.

I’ll give it a try.

I went with a leather holster, a wallet style holster for a Bond Arms derringer.

I will be using it for the derringer with an ankle carry strap by the same manufacturer.

Looked mine over an did see where the green “sticky holster” logo is wearing off but that is the lone difference shy of a “boned wet leather” look some custom holster makers do from every day wear .....

Buyer beware: The sticky hostler is advertised as an IWB that does not require a clip or belt loops to stay in place. On two occasions, the pistol fell out of the holster an onto the floor — once at my office and once at a restaurant — as I was standing up out of chair. Although the sticky holster works well as a pocket holster, I will never use it again as an IWB holster.

The best part is when you need to use the commode, you undo your belt, pull your rig, set it aside an do your bidness.

No dancing around fooling with clips

Positive retention is the gun is not its strong point.

A simple Velcro retention strap would correct this, but the holster stays remarkably secure and my gun stays in place though I aint doing cartwheels....

Traditional IWB holsters with heavy clips always tend to print or expose themselves when I bend or squat.

They don’t move with me as they are anchored.

Some holsters are renowned for retention, you could go 12 rounds in the boxing ring, drop you motorcycle on the road... skid into a group of confederate memorial protesters and never lose your gun..

I have tried these.
I don’t care for them.

For me at the moment Sticky works

One of my first holsters was a Fobus Paddle for 1911

Great positive retention...
Hell I cant get the pistol out!

That thing is gathering dust

It all sounds good on paper, all I know is Sticky has me carrying all the time.

I have not had an issue with the gun getting loose but I think a simple velrco strap would fix that

I feel secure enough about Sticky to carry in condition 1.

I shouldn't have to retro fit the holster to do what it is advertised to do. I subsequently purchased a Barsony IWB holster for my M & P Shield, and it conceals deep and holds my pistol in place.
