I remember back in the 70s, some arab poobah bought a huge mansion on Sunset Boulevard, just west of the 405.
Didn’t take long for him to begin transforming the place into a monstrous eyesore.
The neighbors complained, the city cited him over and over, and even the local media picked up on it. Nothing detered the guy. It went on for years.
One day I drove by there, and the place was a burned out shell. I quietly cheered the brave soul who lit the match.

Yeah. That was the Sheikh who put up the plastic flowers and painted pubic hair on all the statues. I was working for the law firm defending the insurance co for that fire.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either satire or opinion. Or both.)

...painted pubic hair on all the statues. I never got close enough to see that, but I remember the statues out front. There were dozens of them.
They were truly gaudy.

Their father Mohamed Hadid a Jordanian-American real estate developer of Palestinian origin. He is known for building luxury hotels and mansions, mainly in the Bel Air neighborhood of the city of Los Angeles.

Actually I want neither one. The one I have is more than enough for me. 8>)
