You’ve got that right. It has continued since then, and probably will for quite some time. The damage he did will take time to repair. He was, and is, a disaster. SAD.

Must be pretty hard to ask for mental health treatment at the VA hospital when you know all the shrinky-dinks voted for Hillary Xlintstone.

Under Obama they wanted to know if you had a firearm in your home. Even under Trump I would never answer that question.

The VA needs to do something about that. I’m not holding my breath, though.

Never heard of the guy.

What’s the big tragedy over his death that makes it more tragic than anyone else’s?

“Please stop disgracing this forum by posting about this yellow coward who did the ultimate run out and bail out on his little 11 year old daughter who, even if she lives to be 110, will feel this abandonment and pain the rest of her life.”

Normally, I’d agree, but in this case he had some non-so-nice things to say about Hillary, and one of Hillary’s people responded with a not-so-nice comment.

Hopefully the French investigate his death a bit better than we investigated Scalia’s death.

Bourdain’s apparent suicide at 61 sent shockwaves across the Internet

Shock waves? Seriously? Somehow, I missed it.

Thanks for seeing in this celebrity suicide the greater issue - the need to continue to help people with some very serious illnesses. (addiction and depression)

Years ago I heard someone remarked “that in order to understand suicide, it was not so much a question of why, but rather why not.”

There is pain, sorrow, dissociation, and even a twisted version of love involved. It must be such a dark place to inhabit and I personally can not begin to fathom these miry recesses.

Or... perhaps even accidental and situational... as in playing to close to the slippery ditch. There is a situational awareness we all must foster, but many do not. And they shorten their lives because of it. At the point where a person is devoid of situational awareness, it becomes stupidity that kills them.

22 veterans a day commit suicide, nobody bats an eye. A celebrity commits suicide and everyone loses their minds.

Just about to post the same thing.

he continually searched for something to anchor himself and to feel attached. He never found it.

Worth noting that although he had a French Catholic father and a Jewish mother, he was raised without any religion. Too bad, in all his travels, he never sought out the One who could have saved him.

He was found hung in a hotel room in France. Aside from his recent attacks on Weinstein and Hillary. There is no evidence of his depression lately.

“he had some non-so-nice things to say about Hillary, and one of Hillary’s people responded with a not-so-nice comment.”

I think it was more than a “comment”. Didn’t he say he had a run-in with Hillary’s “goons” or “thugs” because of his anti-Hillary stance?

Yea, that was the public part (the tweets). There was a clear implication that they had private ‘correspondence’ with Mr. Bourdain.

Women had a crush on Bourdain just like they had a crush on Anderson Cooper before he came out of the closet.

All they’ve got left in life are their cat children. “No good men” in their lives.
