It seems almost every day there is a story like this.

I’m reminded of a poster who did this several years ago, and I haven’t seen his posts in a while.

Is this from some kind of Dog Haters Club?

Just askin’

Dogs should be put down, PB owners charged with a slew of offences, PB ownership banned and enforced....my first post was meant to be sarcastic...no slam intended....and most, not all, PB owners don’t have 2 dimes to rub together. It’s been my observation that most PB owners use their dogs to bolster their self image and give themselves power and status. The owners have deadly dangerous animals with no regulatory oversight...

Yeah, sue them for even that and then donate it to Goodwill.

LOL! I think I'd just dust off my "Get Even' books.

You kidding. I love dogs. It’s pit bulls I get tired of reading about killing the elderly and children. Not to mention harming or killing others and their pets.

He’s walking 3 pit bulls and they just slipped away?

In a very weak Devils Advocate sort of defense here, I've seen a single pit stretch open links on a logging chain. I can't imagine someone containing 3 of these things, on a leash? NFW! Negligence doesn't come close to describing this event. These things have to be eradicated. My white trash neighbors think it amusing when they see me walking out to check the mail with the Judge slung over my shoulder. They've been warned.

I have two small maltepoos. I rarely walk them far because of neighbors with pit bulls. If they were ever attacked by anyone or anything there would be NOTHING left of dog or owner. Comparing pit bulls to any other dog breed is like comparing a pet iguana to Godzilla.

Always always always carry when you go for walks. Especially if you take little dogs with you. An LCP or an LCR22 should always be there with you. Pits respond well to gunfire of ANY caliber. You don’t need a 41 magnum with hard cast loads.

Ah for the good old days when people carried a Velodog just for such occasions.

Seems you lack logical thinking - no way could you have gotten that from my post. I merely pointed out the owner didn’t say the dog hadn’t shown aggressive tendencies - that a WITNESS said that... Not difficult and only democrats turn something on its head the way you just did.

“”What type of aggression in pit bulls is acceptable. Having been bitten by one I have zero tolerance””

What the devil is eating you people today? Why should I be questioned about my post as if I was defending the animals?
I didn’t write the article - I wasn’t the owner of the dogs - I wasn’t the witness....I’m the reader of the thread and that’s it.

....45...

The Judge is .45 Long Colt or .410. I pack her with .410 buckshot in the 1st 3 chambers, then my very special .45 LC loads for just in case the .410 is not enough deterrence. I figure if I can't stop one with 5, then he will just have to eat the Judge, 6 inches of hot brushed stainless barrel first. Stay safe FRiend!

What is interesting is that in the history of America, pit bulls were once considered to be family friendly dogs and were about as prevalent in the family home as are labradors today. Everyone had a pit bull and everyone wanted a pit bull that did not have one. Even President’s owned pit bulls. It was not until the rise of the 1970’s and 1980’s did the pit bull become what it is now known as a vicious breed. This is moniker is mainly due to the popularity of dog fighting and their breeding for it. Once a friendly family pet turned vicious that no longer garners a place as the family pet.

At any given time the City of Albuquerque has around 140-150 pit bull and pit bull mixes for adoption, Now the Pit Bull advocates on FR claim that these dogs are safe and make good family pets if trained and maintained by competent skilled people. The numbers would mean that there would have to be better than 1500 people a year able to adopt these dogs here in ABQ. Face it there are not anywhere near that number of skilled people available that means most of these dogs are given over to owner that are nowhere near being able to give the type of training and handling even ‘experts’ admit that these dogs need. And It’s very much like handing out loaded guns to untrained and incompetent people. True they have the right to own a gun, but with no training or ‘gun’ sense what do you think is going to happen?

I'm pretty long in the tooth and that does not coincide with my recollections at all, so I am skeptical. Do you have a reliable cite for that?
