Or they throw in the towel and become a dumb slacker too!

I can’t prove it, but I’d wager if any HS is named after Booker T Washington, those scores would be statistically significantly higher than HS named after Roosevelt or W.E.B. Dubois.

I’ll just bet I’m right.

And wait till automation really kicks in and takes all of the jobs. No education ( to speak of ) in an automated world needing advanced tech skills could lead to some serious challenges. Combine that with the serious education in places like China, Japan, etc and the place will soon look a lot like one of the sh1th0les we heard about.

But hey... Party today and don’t worry about tomorrow.

The Left's goal is to dumb down Americans so they will not realize they are the frogs being placed on a slow boil in the pot.

Liberals want people pliable and malleable so they can convince them that they need socialism to get ahead. Capitalism is evil.

With a 30% passing rate in math, that means 70% of these kids don't have a clue.

Just the way the liberals want it. Young and stupid is their voter base.

Liberals love to show great crime rates when they stop enforcing the law, great graduation rates when they stop enforcing scholastic requirements, great hiring rates when they stop hiring all but the privileged minorities and great admission rates to colleges when they discriminate against whites and asians in the admissions process.

So many attribute these things to poor teaching, parenting, family life etc.

What nobody is willing to say out loud is these kids are stupid. They were born stupid and they’ll always be stupid.

There is no educational method nor compassionate, engaged teaching that will change it.

Here's the reason;) Teaching Math from 50's to Today..

1. Teaching Math In 1950s A logger sells a truckload of timber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price. What is his profit?

2. Teaching Math In 1970s A logger sells a truckload of timber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price, or $80. What is his profit?

3. Teaching Math In 1990s A logger sells a truckload of timber for $100. His cost of production is $80. Did he make a profit ? Yes or No

4. Teaching Math In 2000s A logger sells a truckload of timber for $100. His cost of production is $80 and his profit is $20. Your assignment: Underline the number 20.

5. Teaching Math In 2015s A logger cuts down a beautiful forest because he is selfish and inconsiderate and cares nothing for the habitat of animals or the preservation of our woodlands. He does this so he can make a profit of $20. What do you think of this way of making a living? Topic for class participation after answering the question: How did the birds and squirrels feel as the logger cut down their homes? (There are no wrong answers, feel free to express your feelings e.g, anger, anxiety, inadequacy, helplessness etc.)

Should you require debriefing at conclusion of exam there are counsellors available to assist you adjust back into the real world.

6.Teaching Math In 2025 ??????? ???? ??????? ?? ???? 100 ?????. ????? ??????? ?? 80 ???????. ??? ???????? ????? ???

The worst thing that can be said of a human is that there is no expectations of them.

Democrats do that to blacks and Hispanics.

i went to High School in NY State

so i took the Regents exams.....they counted for 50% of your grade for the entire year of the class.....and they were tough....but fair....you had to know what was taught.

you took these exams for all High School classes....from Freshman to Senior....

so what to do?

of course....even then...the Regents were “on a curve”

if no one got above 90% correct, then 89% got you a 99th percentile rating. you took that 99 and added it to the (for example) 89 you got for the classroom work and tests and quizzes....and your grade was 95....and that was what you saw on your report card....95....not A, B C D or F....you got 95

with this system my GPA for 4 years of HS was 95.39....of course i still remember it....it placed me 3rd in my class of 540 or so. Columbia and Cornell said....Ain’t good enough....can you believe that? but how stupid was i??? not realizing that i was a NY state graduate applying to NY state located schools that had quotas.....only so many from NY can be admitted....and we got lots of alumnai kids w big money parents in NY state that get those spots....

95.39 was useless in that system for a Air Force kid who just happened to be moved to NY for the last 2 years of high school....

(the test introduced 4 years ago....that’s the latest version of the Regents....they get revised periodically to keep up with the march of knowlege and information and techniques....

If we look at major events in our personal lives and also society, it is several events coming together at the same time which we can’t overcome. Individually, one at a time we could but...…………………………...

It used to be that everyone who sat through four years got a regular diploma, but if you wanted to show that you learned something, you took the tests for the regents diploma. But that was too elitist. Can’t have anything which everybody can’t have.

How many points is getting your name right?

Probably 35. So, that, plus the unbelievable curve, means the dude aced the course. Is this what is called the new math?

A good portion of politicians, especially the ones on the left love a dumbed down constituency. The dumber the better as this allows them to get by with whatever they feel like. And when everything eventually goes down the tube, after making one bad choice after another than the handwringing and soul searching begins. We could have, we should have, why didn’t we? A good part of the problem stems from human nature having a tendency to always take the part of least resistance.

What ever happened to the NY Regents program that made my life a living hell in the ‘60s?
