If Congress votes to hold Rosenstein in contempt, that would be time for Trump to step in and order the docs released.

Obama was president when Congress voted Holder in contempt.
What's different now is that we of course have President Trump who can order the docs released and who can fire Rosenstein.
These are the things that could happen to RR.
1. Congress gives him another deadline and says I dare you to cross this one(yet again).
2. Congress holds him in contempt and does nothing else because all they can do is refer it to the DOJ which means that RR can stop his own contempt charge.
3. Congress holds him in contempt and then impeaches him.(can’t happen without democrats)
4. Congress holds him in contempt and then Trump fires him.
There is only a slight difference this time in that the full congress just passed a resolution to get the documents. This would give Trump more cover to fire RR. But democrats and the MSM go crazy and call for Trump’s impeachment 24/7. Claiming that Trump is the one who is obstructing Justice.

You know the one: the one that said: “ Even if this wasn’t just one act in this Kabuki Theater play, you all wouldn’t dare to do anything to me, because I have photos of 1/3 of you with little girls, 1/3 of you with little boys, and 3/4 of you taking bribes.”
A censure would give Trump cover to fire him without running the charge of obstruction of justice. In fact it is Rosenstein who is the obstructionist.
I’m thinking some extended water boarding, followed by removing his fingernails, hooking some of his “man parts” up to car batteries, while standing him in a pan of water, then if he fails to come around to our way of thinking, toss him overboard in the Everglades and let him find his way home!

My thoughts, to avoid the screams of “zomg impeach! obstruction !!”, if Trump fires RR, would be to have congress hold him in contempt. Then have attorneys file ethics complaints with the bar. Get him censured, then Trump can order sessions to fire him, if sessions refuses, trump can fire both of them and say “Gee, I didn’t wanna, but I can’t have a DAG, who’s in violation with the bar”.
