The GOP is always assuming they will lose. If they don’t then they work harder to ensure they are right the next time they assume they will lose. When they win, I honestly think many of them are disappointed. In fact I’m sure they were when Trump won and I’m sure they are secretly hoping they lose big now so that (a) they don’t have the pressure of actually living up to their promises and (b) they can finally say “see, Trump is a disaster” and not look like 100% certified fools.
