Yeah. States are going broke paying for Medicaid and pensions and health bennies for retired state employees.
Course all these bridges suddenly went bad over the last 2 years. None of them were dangerous before then.
GSP in NJ is shown, but past in the past few years the state has been widening the roadway , the Garden State Parkway all the way down the Jersey Shore and created next exits.
And there have been improvements of 14A NJ Turnpike.
Fortunately the Pulaski Highway has been worked on the past several years. Now 495 to Lincoln Tunnel is being worked on.
They may not be PURELY self-motivated, but please realize that this report comes from the trade association that builds bridges. Basically, they are demanding a trillion a year in spending, saying it’s ABSOLUTELY necessary.
I wish there was a way to fire everyone in Congress and start over fresh. Almost all of them seem to be corrupt and useless - no, worse, actually detrimental to our country.
Ever see a road work site with a few guys working , and several just standing around waiting to help. And 1 or 2 police officers “ for traffic control”. /s
BHO & Clinton had shovel ready jobs. /s
I live in NYS. The orange barrel is our state flower.
“States are going broke paying for Medicaid and pensions and health bennies for retired state employees.”
In addition to the societal infrastructure being rotted out by tens of millions of immigrants. But that is such a small price to pay for the opportunity to celebrate diversity and prove we are not racist.
Though if you ever notice the idiots speeding through work zones, you know the cops are there for a very good reason.
Where is the list of bridges?
“Traffic Fines are Doubled in Work Zones”
Only if you’re caught. Which requires a cop. :-)
What about the State Department of Transportation? If these are bridges so dangerous, should they be closed?
What are the tolls collected on the NJ GSP used for? /s
Often the cop is standing outside. By the time he gets in the car..
If they fix them, then that’s one less campaign issue (or gov’t shutdown issue) for them to foist.
They are still a very visible and useful deterrent.
Term limits would be the answer to much of what you say.
Besides, Obama spent $700 billion in 'Stimulus Funds' on 'Shovel-Ready-Jobs' to repair these, right?
