I know an Olympian of a different sport who got a full ride to a good college on a football scholarship. A guy on the football team was a great high school student. The coaches arranged this, then swapped players! My guy didnt do that well academically in HS and the football scholarships were less reliant on gpa.
Bottle of placebos and a canister of nitrous oxide should do it!
He is not unique in his attitude and it is more prevalent than ever.
Sounds like a racist point of view he has. Maybe that’s why the big mural on the stair case at the school he helped open appears to have no white people on it.
having a strong physical resemblance to Neanderthal did not make it easier.
having a strong physical resemblance to Neanderthal did not make it easier.
And if you took a 14 year old rich white kid and dropped him into Harlem would they need to make an adjustment?
Why is this shocking?
People do not usually get dropped from one tribe into the next. 99% of the time everyone adjusts.
I remember going into schoolyard brawl in 8th grade. When I saw one of the tougher kids take off his belt and wrap it around his hand I think I felt real fear for the first time in my life. I think the black kids sat on our end of the bleachers once too often.
It was over about 30 seconds after it started.
Kids in 1974 got worked up over stupid things.
Today, someone would have been stabbed or shot.
The discontent that black millionaire elite athletes experience when mixing with whites in a predominantly white world is telling us something important, if we can discard our preconceptions and have ears to hear.
So racist you had to say it twice.
Seems that adjustment seems to be smooth and seamless when an outrageous chunk of cash is involved.
If we are being real honest, we have to look at ALL the people involved with black athlete into white sports world.
Looking back at the slave trades, the players havent changed. Everyone is still playing the same roles.
And black and white American cannot see past the simple black and white issues. The talented kids are passed around like meat because people see the dollar potential. They are handled by the lawyers, prep schools, colleges, agents, and owners. Even the terms havent changed a whole lot.
Who runs the money in these worlds? Who benefits from here atheletes?
I am not suggesting for a second that LeBron and his peers are not racist, but when you open your mind and understand the process for ALL of these players, it is easier to understand why they feel like that.
But, when I read about him being compared to a caveman, I understand that very few FR are interested in root cause analysis. They see a rich guy who plays a game, and nothing else.
Sometimes the comment sections are here are thinner than the veneer on a Walmart TV stand. He reactions are visceral, without any critical thought.
