He killed a rapey fag in Deliverance. That put him as a permanent good guy in my book.

I had just texted my brother that our Mom probably had her boobs out at the Pearly Gates today.

As a child I remember taking a class in stunt man techniques from him during the Universal Studios tour. Very nice man and good with kids. Prayers for his grieving family.

In fact, not a lot older myself. Burt Reynolds just could not seem to take himself seriously, and he communicated that brand of humor into just about everything he did.
Forever immortalized in “Smokey and the Bandit”.

Pontiac Trans Ams with the big 6.6-litre engine and screaming chicken on the hood ARE very cool!

Man, I just watched one of his movies over the weekend.BBCAmerica has been running reruns of old X-Files and hubby and I just watched the episode where Burt Reynolds played the role of God. It was a quirky, fun episode.
To: ColdOne
RIP Mr. Reynolds, you were one of a kind.

I saw him in an episode of the Hawaii 5-0 reboot a few years ago. He looked shockingly frail.
BTW, Smokey and the Bandit was the most American movie ever made. I saw it in Mexico with my Mexican then-girlfriend. I loved it and she didn’t get it at all.
