“Montgomery told USA TODAY that she wanted to order a quesadilla when the encounter occurred. She posted to social media that she believes the employee could understand her but refused to serve her anyway.”
No comprende Quesadilla? Sure.
Agreed it definitely should be.
Isn’t “quesadilla” Spanish?
Every time the the customer asks a question in English, the employee shows instant understanding, and responds appropriately to the question - in Spanish.
She obviously was just refusing to serve that customer, maybe because they were black.
I think we all know what happened here. Rude, obnoxious patrons were countered with a “no ingles” ploy. I don’t blame her.
Not because black but likely because rude and obnoxious.
Now, black people being refused service by Hispanics. Time to survey the Dem caucus for their response. These are the kind of stories that contribute to President Trump getting 29% black support.
Boot her back to Cuba if she hates English so much. Won’t have to listen to it there.
No taco for you grigo!!
Taco Bell serves the indigenous cuisine of Southern California, not Mexico.
When they begin to flood into an area, everyone else moves out because it becomes unlivable. It's happening all over the US.
Unfortunately, we have no national language. Our feckless and divided Congress, many of which espouse identity politics, should long ago have made English the national language - but they have not.
A nation made up of people from every part of the earth requires a number of elements to create cohesion across different people. A common national language is essential!
United we stand, divided we fall.
The saddest thing is the customer thought that in Miami the go to place for Mexican food was Taco Bell.
I am pretty sure the woman did speak English and just wanted to be a jerk. I believe this because I know at least most of the Cubans in that area a very fluent in English and Spanish. Plus I can’t imagine Taco Bell not requiring their employees be proficient in English.
I don’t get this story. At a drive thru, doesn’t one place their order before the pick up window?
They started at the area where one places orders, but the lady decided to try again at the window thinking the speaker was causing the problem. She also fired up her phone to record while driving to the window.
Thanks.
I’m shocked to find TB now HAS mexican food.
:)
