That’s what I was thinking. In the animation loop, the western sky off the northwest coast (over the Pacific) is black, then suddenly pops to blue like all the clouds condensed at once all over the ocean.

Yes, it's the color enhancement bringing the liquid water clouds back into view after dark.

At night, the blue colors represent liquid water clouds such as fog and stratus, while gray to white indicate higher ice clouds

Please note that the nighttime views are in Infrared, not, true color. Different views.

Gonna check it out tonight!

Seems like parts of Nevada and Montana will find the best places for a telescope, or even just star gazing.

I can’t quite see it due to clouds, but the Big Bend area is super dark and great for stargazing.

There is no industry on the Mexican side, so the air is clear during the day, too.
