Hmmmm. Wish I had kept the one I had but....... Anyway, I suppose folks will be able to obtain a $1,000.00 (max) guitar for $2,500 again? I didn't see a shortage of available Gibsons anyplace. Will they "need" to raise prices?

We will see if the new executive management (formerly of Levi-Strauss) goes full Lib retard mantra like they did at Levi. If so, I will be done With Gibson and I own three of their premier products.

Probably. Sweetwater has a really nice cherryburst LP Classic with 57 Classics in it, but for $2300?? OUCH.
I paid $830 for my 2018 PRS SE Custom 24 and it is perfect - fit and finish. Gibson has made good guitars, but not so much recently.....

To carry Gibson brand, the company forces retailers to buy and carry their top of the line products. Hell their standard Les Paul is $3500...ridiculous. just way out if the range for working musicians.

I hear ya.. Wish I still owned all the ones I had between 1970-1976.
I played electric when few women did.. The band called 'Fanny' were the only female band I knew of back then.

I have an ES-125T from 1962 that is still a blast to play. It was made by the same luthiers that made the Super 400’s. I have a 1990 Les Paul and a 2017 J-45 too.

Maybe with the former levi’s assclown input they’ll go full up anti 2nd amendment like levis. Further POing 1/2 their customers.

Went through the Elderly store in Lansing a year ago. Just checked, the have a Loyd Loar Gibson F-5, signed and dated 1924 available for $120,000. Nice appreciation for a mandolin guitar.

Working musician? Oh, performing. LOL! I have my Strats, a Tele and a 65 Epiphone Riviera I bought brand new. They all get to go out and play on occasion at local jam nights. 55+ years and I’m still trying. LOL!

Considering what 1959 LP bursts with original PAF’s are going for, that’s not (too) bad.... :-)

Just for others on the thread, if you are ever in Michigan, a drive to Lansing and the Elderly store is a wonderland for a string player. I went up there with my middle aged son, who is one, and he would have looked and touched for eight hours.

It would be a true heartbreaker for Gibson to wind up under libtard management.
Regardless of their politics, my guess is the new management will ditch the traditional handmade construction for the mid and lower level guitars and move to a modern automated process. They were still doing artisan handwork like scraping the bindings even on their relatively inexpensive guitars, and that was killing them, in my opinion. They either need to think up a creative way to keep those processes and still create a product that they can turn a profit on at a reasonable price, or they need to reserve those processes strictly for a very expensive high end line. I suspect they’ll do the latter.

I know that place. I sold some CDs there once.
