He can’t use them officially, some kind of conflict they said no before when he was mentioned coming on legal team.
Congress has no power to prosecute on their own. Since the Administration won’t act, it takes a majority vote of House and Senate to take action.
Gowdy, et al, are publicizing wrong-doing, and are bucking GOP leadership to do it.
Inside the current Congress the only one I heartily trust is Rep, Devin Nunes. There are others I am favorable towards, but not completely trusting of.

Barr clearly, fully, publicly and immediately disclosed the criminality of Comey's treatment of the Clinton affair. Who do you think, of those on Trump's list or who were otherwise available, has better credentials to serve as his prosecutor? Credentials that, far and above beyond those used in the courtroom, include a keen sense of politics, such as required for MAGA.

I didn’t think congress had that power. I though all they could do was recommend the DOJ start an investigation. If what I think is true, it’s always been about the theater. Their chance to get on TV and act important.
Having said that, I gon’t have respect for the GOP leaders either. They don’t support the president or his agenda. They are the swamp as much as the rest of them. I have unfounded high hopes that when the documents get declassified that a large majority of the elected officials from both sides, the leadership of the DOJ, FBI, NSA, CIA, State Department and the Obama administration will have been shown to have committed crimes.
Yep - I tried hard to believe Gowdy was actually trying to do something good, but it looks like he’s just a blow hard with good communications skills....
