Don’t pay the furloughed workers any back pay. Re-evaluate all non-essential roles in the government and start eliminating them entirely. If you look at the federal agencies listed on the govt website (I forget which one), eliminate every single one that is not specifically enumerated in the Constitution. The Fed government is not supposed to be involved in energy, education, arts, etc. Get rid of all of these free riders who are more interested in obstructing American liberty than in serving.
The House membership was limited to 435 because there was not enough space for more members. Now we have over a million clerks officing in DC afflicted by class envy who are dedicated to destroying our liberty and prosperity.

I thought all those federal so-called workers got paid no matter what. Those sent home get essentially a paid vacation.
May be we should have CONgress and the SINate as non essential just to humble them and give them some understanding or “We The People”
Pretty much nothing. Most of the government is on preapproved funding, which is why we went years without any approved budgets and nobody even noticed. They only shut down parts of the government people like, like the national parks, so they can prove how evil the other side is. It’s all stupid posturing, completely pointless.
