I make giant Yorkshire Puds in a cast iron skillet when I serve hash. Acts like a bowl. Leftover roast, gravy, and veggies poured in. Yum.
Do they taste their stuff?. We find their items not too good and expensive.... would never buy again...
“You would be so much better off with a 500 degree method standing rib roast.”
Just watched the video. It’s only 8 AM and all I can think about now is prime rib! :)
Sams club has the best pre cut steaks. The best.
We have used this recipe / method 3 times it is excellent.
I had no idea that product existed. Thanks for sharing.
I get my meat from my local Costco. They carry USDA Prime, and even their Choice meat is pretty good.
You make a great hamburger by buying good quality chuck and grinding at home.
You can purchase a meat grinder for the big Kitchen Aid mixers or buy a stand alone grinder.
Grind the chuck right before grilling and slip in a slice of bacon or two.
Something about grinding just before cooking makes a tremendous burger.
They are basically a scam. They compete with themselves.
Make it sound like a bargain but even with all the discounts, many times what you would pay at the supermarket. To make maters even worse, their steaks are either select or choice. I can’t figure out which as they will not tell their grade.
My Daughter gave me a gift card several years ago. I will not go into details but everything was average or worse except the hamburgers which were actually good. Steaks were tiny and about the same as what the local supermarket calls select.
Customer service is one of the worst I have dealt with ever.
Con: The commercials they run with the gay guys hugging.
Get most of my steaks at the counter from central market (HEB’s upscale store) and often they have reasonable deals going on, that said we mostly eat grass fed/pastured organic and i could probably put a a new Benz in the driveway for what we spend on meat and produce in a month
they will call everyday to re order. had to block the phone.
Now that I know about this place, and have seen the view through the street-side window into the meat locker, I really want to go.
I should not have said their customer service was one of the worst I have ever dealt with.
After thinking about it, they are absolutely the very worst I have ever dealt with.
They aren’t bad, but you’re correct. Terribly expensive. And they market themselves as a great savings. Something valued at over $150 for just $44.
Agreed on all points, and your post made the point as well as any. I wouldn't say they're exactly inferior, but they're nothing special. They're certainly less than what you would get if you hand picked your own steaks at the grocery store, but a little better than Ponderosa (I've actually had a decent (at least edible) steak there a few years ago).
Absolutely agree 1,000 points on over priced. They have some interesting bundles, and they make a good gift for someone who lives far away from you and you can't figure out what to get them, but if you're getting it for someone who really knows meat, I wouldn't.
Their specials bring their prices to 10% higher than most others. The quality of meat is a 3 on a 1-5 basis imo. I get steak at Kroger in the woo hoo sale area. Its excellent! Omaha does have a great stuffed flounder by the way.
But that $179 value for $35 appeals to our greed......and it works.......for them. It’s like that scene from the Christmas Story where the Old Man is negotiating for the Christmas Tree.
