One foot in 100 years. But I do not feel sorry for rich liberal beach front owner in Cali. This is what they voted for so screw them.

According to Wikipedia, there are two methods employed to measure coastlines. The first method, CRS, measures 840 miles of coast. The other method, NOAA, says that California has 3,427 miles of coast. So if you go with the latter, then this is a threat to acquire one third of all California coastline.

So they can take the homes at reduced values because of the supposed threat that they will be sucked up by the ocean, and then they can rent them to connected people for discount prices.

Dachas for the party elite. How Soviet of them.

This is just the first step in this direction. What will be next? Because of a frog? An insect? A puddle in your yard?

While we may be standing back and laughing at the people of Ca for allowing things like this to happen, we have to remember that if they get away with this it will next be our property everywhere in a few years.

This concept is dangerous for everyone everywhere in this country.

50 years from now, when CACA (see my tagline) doesn’t show up, California will ask, “What will we do with all this extremely valuable coastline property?” right after they re-assess the bankrupt state pension system.

And by using lawsuits to challenge the commission they can show how climate change, upon which they are basing this decision, is not scientific nor fact based, and just a political power grab. Thus inadvertently destroying the whole climate change religion/theory/industry/power grab by the state.

Why can’t the market determine the value of seaside property? Those fearing sea incursion can sell. Those that don’t can hold, etc.

As others have said, the incursion is occurring slowly if at all. This is not like a flood.

My suspicion is that this is a scheme for elites to unload selected properties on taxpayers as the surrounding areas turn bad from all the immigrants.

Land, land.......Land, see ‘Snatch’!”

. "There's only one thing that stands between me and that land... The rightful owners.".

Global Warming sceptic site. "Watt's up with that" had an article years ago about a study Gov Brown was using to spread sea level rise panic that the San Francisco airport would soon be underwater. The author used the numbers in the article and calculated that yes, the airport would be underwater, in 46,000 years. Eventually Gov. Brown stopped referring to the study, but never gave up spreading fear.
