This is what you get when weddings are held too late in the day! Recently I have seen wedding receptions go on until midnight. By contrast, when it was my turn to get married, we started the service at 8 AM, and were done with both the wedding and reception by noon.

These party weddings always seem to end in disaster - at the party itself or 6 months down the line. It’s about the party, not about the sacrament.

We didn't do quite that well, but got a five hour break between the end of the lunch at 2 pm and the start of the reception at 7 pm.
We also got a private room during said break and I'll leave it to your imagination what went on during said five hours . . . more like four counting transportation and dressing/disrobing time. Let's just say it was the best nap time I ever had and we both went to the reception with big smiles on our faces.
