Just tell them that they mistakenly “belled” a cheetah.

"But Audubon Canyon Ranch, which just started following the mountain lion with a special collar last week, has encouraged landowners to call their Living with Lions research team to capture and remove any wild animals that attack livestock."

They should encourage the lions to call their Living with People research team.

Audubon Canyon Ranch, a non-profit group likely makes Huge profits - and evades paying taxes like the corrupt Clinton tax free foundation

problem is they had a tracking collar on it from what I understand - if they hadn’t reported as required they could have ended up in trouble - permit or no.

Picky, picky.

No, that's not what I meant. I'm just surprised that anybody in California's countryside gets some animal rights wackos group involved. But then again I'm from the Midwest....

Thanks...We lived in a rural area of Oregon for a number of years and never had a problem with them though they were there. Hunters hunted them legally with dogs and the cougars knew that man would kill them.

Right after moving north they outlawed hunting cougars with dogs and they lost their fear of man to a degree and then became a problem with pets and farm animals.

This is a fact. And contrary to what they claim, at some point they start killing more than they can eat. Instead of just killing one once in awhile when they are hungry, they will kill several and only consume one. When they start to do this it becomes a serious problem for any stock owner. Lynx and Bobcats will do the same.

LOL! I saw that and Glendale is not out in a rural area, it’s nestled up close to the San Gabriel Mtns.

Since CA passed a law protecting cougars (I believe in the 90s) they have had the cats coming down off the Mtns in many cities that abut them that we referred as the front country.

Liberals suck. I’m sure if T-Rex were still around they’d tell us we should allow it to run amok through our white, middle-class neighborhoods unfettered.

Stop the car, dear, so the kids can go out and pet the kitty

You jest, but my father ran into this very thing in Yellowstone. Idiots in the car behind him sent their kids out to pose for pictures next to the cute little baby buffalos. Dad grabbed the kids and got them to safety just in the nick of time. Dad - not a man for hyperbole - said "It was a close one." That means, "I had buffalo slobber on the back of my shirt".

Funny thing was that the idiots raised hell with Dad for what he did. Ranger had to get involved... he gave the idiots what for, sent them on their way, and mentioned to Dad that he wouldn't believe the number of times that he needed to deal with this particular issue...

No doubt about it and they practically have an unlimited number of enviro-nut contributors in that part of CA.

“State Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement Lt. Jim Jones said two officers have investigated the incident and verified that the sheep were killed and that the family had reached out several times to the agency. He said the family didn’t know to ask for a permit to kill the animal, but also did not need to have one if the livestock is in imminent danger.”
