A magazine is one of the pieces of evidence retrieved from the brother’s home last week during a search conducted by CPD. Investigators also recovered a book of stamps.”

He actually tried to pin it on actual white guys at first, but they had an alibi. That's why this isn't a victim-less crime. The victims are all white people, because anyone could have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and Smollett would have burned them at the stake. He was clearly ready to say any white guys the police came up with, were the ones who attacked him.
