I could be wrong, but my understanding of these last days could be summed up with the following cautionary warnings.....
Biblical prophecy assures us there will be no true peace until Jesus returns. Peace cannot be negotiated with a people who chant “death to Israel, death to America.” The stated goal of those who hate Israel, is to drive Jews into the sea. In other words to finish the objective which Hitler sought to achieve. When dealing with the Palistinian people, who btw, have no true claim to the Holy Land, let alone a true geographical heritage. Desire only peace by sword. In fact, not “peace” but “piece” as in a piece of Israel. The PLO have been fueled by surrogates Hamas and Hezbala. Funded through Iran, known in the Old Testament as Persia.
Hence ..... no Jesus, no peace.

As it stands at this time, Islams “third holiest site”, the dome of the rock, sits atop the original foundation of the Temple of Jerusalem. The very site, believed to be the geographical location of the prophesied Third Temple, soon to rebuilt. This will prove to be of main contention pertaining to a near future peace plan. As will any proposed peace plan involving a “two state solution” Will Islam agree to any proposal which would demand the destruction of their coveted dome of the rock? Will Israel agree to yet again part their land? All in the name of false security.
To understand the reprecutions of this, we need to consult the Word of God pertaining to prophecy. First of all, what does God say about whose land it is that Israel belongs? The land is God’s, and He has made a Covenant with Israel concerning Israel.

5 Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:

This was in fact, a reaffirmation to the Covenant Promise made to Abraham in:

Abraham and Sarah grew impatient and seeking a child since Sarah was barren, and gave birth to a child of the flesh rather then a child of Promise. This was the birth of Ishmael through Hagar. Incidentally, this is where Islam claims “their” birthright to “promise”

However, the birth of Ishmael did not prevent the birth of Isaac, the child of promise.

I would also add that any attempt to deceive or to attack the Jewish People, whom God refers to as “the apple of His eye”

That’s pretty much how I see it. Guess we (and the non-Christian world especially) are gonna find out.
Israel should have pushed the “Palestinians” into Jordan and into Egypt in the conclusion of the ‘67 War when it was politically doable.
