I am going to amend my last statement, the text you cited (1 Peter 3:1-6) was regarding women who adorned themselves like Jezebel. They were cautioned to not bring attention to themselves as Greek women did, by excessive makeup and extravagant clothing but were to dress humbly.
Seems like he wants to be the first pope of a one world religion.

Many saints craved to preach to the Mussulmans in Asia and Africa and become thereby martyrs. Many of them succeeded.

No fan of Pope Francis, he sometimes shoots from the hip. I have said many times he drives me crazy. But on this point, I do think he is being misquoted and his statement when looked at deeper talks about Attraction and witness. This Pope associates Proselytism with forced or not sincere conversion. In fact, I am no fan of Proselytism myself. So the full quote is “the Church grows not through proselytism but through attraction and witness.” So Theologically, it is not a problematic statement when I looked up the entire quote.

I’m not Catholic, but if I were, I would be very unhappy that Francis is Pope. However, many Christian converts from islam say that the best way to bring a Muslim to Jesus, is to befriend them, build a relationship with them, and love them to the Lord. I have also heard that in Muslim countries, Jesus has supernaturally appeared to some muslims, and revealed Himself to them. While I believe both these scenarios, I also know that Christians are martyred for Jesus, just for being believers, and I don’t doubt many who try to openly proselytize, are martyred for their efforts. In the end, whether it ends in death or the conversion of a muslim, each Christian must do that which he believes the Holy Spirit tells him to do, whatever the cost. These obedient saints are true Christians,and are rewarded much, in Heaven. (Using the term saints, as it is defined in the Greek, believers “set apart”, rather than those elevated to sainthood after death , just to clarify).
I agree and I want all Catholics to know that they are saved by the grace of God sending his only begotten Son to die for them just like everyone else who believes in Him. The idolatry of the papacy is a detriment. Five hundred years ago, Martin Luther was correct when he called the papacy anti-Christ.
Because he thinks that *slam is OK, and just as good as Christianity, of which he is ashamed.

He should just tell them to convert to islam, what difference does it make to him? He’s not actually Catholic or even chistian I believe, but rather more of a sort of deist so no biggie to him.
