As a novel I’m reading put it, since Napoleon the Russians have liked to have buffer countries between them and the west. Also though, I thought Ukraine was the breadbasket of the Soviet Union. Does Russia grow enough crops for itself, I wonder, or do they rely on Ukrainian commodities?

They have got to be stopped. They are trying to impose a soviet style police state on us, gulags and all. Hell, we’re already in an intellectual gulag, our views have practically been proscribed. They have to go down in a big crash or else we are screwed. We have to hang together or we’re going to hang separately. That’s what it’s coming down to, somebody’s going to hang, them or us, I prefer it be them.

One day we had a customer bring in his bass boat with the trailer light wiring chewed through by the family’s dog.
About a week later, back he came with the wiring chewed through again.
I asked him, “do you want us to conceal and armor the wiring this time?”
“Naaah....I’m just going to hook up an electric fence charger I have to the trailer frame.”
About a month later, back he came with the same problem.
“The fence charger idea didn’t work?” I asks him.
He sez, “oh yeah it worked.....but after about the fifth time of shocking the piss out of myself reaching for something in the boat, since the grandkids love the dog, I took the charger off and told the dog he could eat the whole damn boat.”
True story.

Listen to sounds of a red fox vixen scream or the calls of a fisher if you want to hear scary. Whenever I hear such sounds in nature, I picture our ancestors sleeping outdoors with such sounds. I would never have gotten any sleep.
I have never heard a mountain lion scream. Will have to look it up.

Why do you dislike it? I thought it was wonderful. Life was different back then. Much more bloody, hunting, killing, slaughtering animals. They didn’t look at animals the way that we do today. Still, can’t imagine a pet mountain lion, although they do have a new breed of cat called the Bengal that is like 20-35 lbs, stripes like a Bengal tiger.
