Peacocks are a distinct sound not as much a woman’s scream but loud and alarming if you are unaware. We had peacocks growing up. (If the cabal had humble farmers with 9 children I had no idea we were in! Kept our influence and wealth hidden.) Those peacocks are credited with scaring the daylights out of my sister’s dates. Probably the reason we had them!

My husband used to run down the road in high school for conditioning and the neighbors peacock freaked him out on more than one occasion.

They are beautiful proud birds. I remember watching a movie “The Song Catcher” about life in the mountains. In one scene an old lady told the “visiting” person that if they hear a woman scream to run as fast as possible and don’t look back because it won’t be a woman but a mountain lion.

Meeeee either! Work arounds getting tougher in tougher.

Don’t check most corp policies. You’ll have to walk off into the woods armed only with a pointy stick.

if the Russians were rooting for anyone, it would have been hillary. That’s the only logical conclusion....

1) Everyone knows hillary and slick willie will do anthing for a price.

2) Russia would have had her over a barrel with either blackmail or bribery options.

Had she been elected she, not Trump, would have been a puppet for the ChiComs and Russians.

I read a columnist earlier, sorry can’t remember who, but he said, paraphrasing that the Mueller Team had to give up because after two years of searching they still couldn’t find a crime called “Obstruction of Coup.”

>>Why do you dislike it?

I catch bugs and ants and take them outside. When we tried to catch mice, I ended up with two cages with running wheels and such. I feel guilty when I find a stash of dog food behind books and vacuum it up. I’m horrified by killing and abusing animals and a complete hypocrite because I’m not a vegan. I tried twice and lost the first time on a hot dog. So I accept my hypocrisy.

I have trouble with Henry killing things. He has a story about a tipling mouse that he also published in the New York Magazine and I was enjoying it until, after being so amused at the mouse getting drunk, HE KILLED IT!!!!!! I’m so aghast at one of the Christmas poems that talked about a dog being beaten that I didn’t include it in the body of Henry’s poetry.

http://henrylivingston.com/writing/poetry/carrieraddresses/pjcr1809.htm

I’m the one that keeps that academic list! It took me over 10 years before I could read it enough and recognize that it fit all the criteria for inclusion. And when we analyzed poems for statistical correlation to Henry’s style, there it was - right smack in the middle. I wonder if I ever changed the online identification. Sigh. Just checked. Haven’t done it yet.

“D5”

Since we’ve been advised that Mueller finished his investigation months before the 2018 election (https://truepundit.com/massive-doj-leak-reveals-mueller-finished-trump-russia-probe-months-before-2018-elections-kept-silent-while-dems-swept-midterms/), could D5 have a “double” meaning - like “Page D5” already complete for the report, in addition to avalance D5 or December 5 (GHWB funeral)?

“D5” doesn’t appear to show up until post 1332 on 10 May 18 (per search on QMAP.PUB) - by which time, it appears, Mueller could already have finished investigating. Those HOM’s could already have been in motion through IG and Huber.

“Double meanings exist.” Q - posts 365, 568, 736,850, 1385, 1952, 2348, 2350.

You had an excellent question, one that forced me to think about the differences in to, two and too, something that I just know. How do I know? I guess it was drilled in at some point. But Grammar Nazis live for being asked for help, as opposed to butting in and making people angry. I’m not really a Grammar Nazi, more of a Grammar Benevolent Dictator.

Chik-fil-a is fast though... I don’t worry about the line much there. Plus they get those nice young people out there with their hand helds to take your order.

Oh, yeah, I get the ambivalence. It was a darn fine monograph though, I enjoyed reading it, and pretty cool it was by your ancestor. Sometimes I find writing that old hard to read, but that was very concise and coherent.

I saw that about the Russian couple - that’s the kind of story you see and then a year later see another one “Russian couple mauled by pet mountain lion”.

Not dissing the Chik at all, but the closest one is a bear to get in and out of the parking lot traffic wise, and I miss the grilled chicken salad sandwich and coleslaw which they don’t carry anymore. YMMV

Thanks for the reminder about the Wilbury’s. Now listening to them in the car while returning from a quick trip to the Texas Panhandle.
