http://www.kcna.kp and http://www.kcna.co.jp are very slow, but no important updates.

Time for a missile test?

I saw a report that the Chinese medical team sent in were medics, to assess if Kim could be moved by either train or a flight out.
...........
NK and Chinese RR tracks are notoriously rough.

Could be, but on the other hand since there are several medics they might just be coronavirus specialists. If it was to check the fat one just a few would be needed.

We are all waiting for something substantial, but there is nothing yet.

However, Jung H Pak is very fortunate with the timing of her book “Becoming Kim Jong Un” https://twitter.com/junghpak1 that gives a good background. But at present we are waiting for something real, and as of now we do not have anything, except long lists of possibilities, and most of them are wrong. ;-)

One thing that is certain is that it is more difficult for them to make decisions, as the fear of COVOD-19 is reducing the personal meetings, and they are worried about talking on the phone.

If something of importance will happen in NK it will be reported in the State TV. Martyn Williams https://twitter.com/martyn_williams is monitoring it and if it is on the radio Luz Ding https://twitter.com/luzdingyu will write about it.

But, nothing special yet.

Why was Kim at the fertilizer plant?

It may be connected to the nation's covert nuclear ambitions. Margaret Croy has written a paper about how it could help NK produce nuclear material by extracting uranium from phosphoric acids.

and here is Ri Chun-hee presenting the news about the fertilizer plant, so it is probably “true”.

Thanks for doing the objective, well-sourced, empirical and verifiable academic level work that FReeper “TigerLikesRooster” (and me to a lesser extent) used to do here on FR for 20 years when people appreciated the truth about East Asia, the murderous Kim family and NK, hungering for truth and interpretation, and not propaganda or simple campaign narrative.

And with that, I take a continued well-needed break once again FreeRepublic, until the country returns to a more realistic and sane policy toward the horrid dictator Kim Jong Un and his regime, under whomever in power.

The story behind this 2019 Madrid incident

Why Even China is Scared of North Korea | JHS Ep. 820
Jordan Harbinger show: Bradley Hope is the co-founder of journalism studio Project Brazen and the New York Times bestselling coauthor of Billion Dollar Whale and Blood and Oil. His latest book is The Rebel and the Kingdom: The True Story of the Secret Mission to Overthrow the North Korean Regime.

How did soft-spoken Yale undergraduate Adrian Hong come to organize resistance to Kim Jong-un’s regime, help defectors escape from North Korea, lead a failed defection operation in Madrid's North Korean Embassy, and find himself on the run as an international fugitive?

On this episode, we're joined by Bradley Hope, the author of The Rebel and the Kingdom: The True Story of the Secret Mission to Overthrow the North Korean Regime. Here, we discuss the conflicting stories of what went down at the Madrid Embassy, the consequences Adrian Hong and his co-conspirators face for embarrassing North Korea and causing an international incident, why the largest resistance groups committed to helping people defect from North Korea are in the United States, how Kim Jong-un’s regime brings in the big bucks when the country is starving, how China and North Korea's relationship may be changing, and much more. Listen, learn, and enjoy!
