Yes, everything is rushed. The show has walked away from the deep history and the prophecies. It has devolved into a medieval slaughterfest to pick a new king. There’s nothing wrong with medieval slaughterfests if that’s the story you want to tell, but GOT started on a very different plane.
I’ve read theories that he warged into Dany last week and is why we didn’t see her eyes up close after she started destruction of Kings Landing and that’s how Dany can get off the hook for becoming Mad Queen. Interesting but who knows. I cannot wait!

They don't. George R.R. Martin never finished the last two books. I am pretty sure that the 2 producers, when this show started, figured that he would at least finish one of the books while they were filming the earlier ones, so that they would have his source material. But, it has been a long, long time since his last book was written and there is no date as to when the next book was coming out. So, the proucers had to improvise; and, unfortunately, they are not the writer/storyteller that Martin is. So, a very disappointing season 8.
First on all, I liked and got hooked on GOT.
It may have been the Dragons.
Thankfully, it will soon be over.
No matter how bad the final season and episode.
It will be done.
And I will call Cox Cable on Monday and cancel HBO.
Not only HBO but all or as much of the other cable offerings that I have no interest in.

I think after 8 seasons, the originally young cast members are no longer young. Maybe they wanted it over. It’s hard to believe that HBO did, given the ratings.
But, I think you’re right. They are rushing to a conclusion, and it’s a bit of a shame after building up some of these story lines for years. Cercei and Jaime die in a collapsed building? Hound dies falling off a building with his brother.
Daenarys a mad targaryen? I will dislike that more than anything, because it runs counter to everything she’s fought for for years, so it’s so out of character. I’ve always suspected she would die for Jon Snow or vice versa, so that won’t bother me so much.
Who’s left: Daenarys, Snow, Devos, Arya, Sansa, Sam, Gilly, Brienne, Tyrion, Bran, Yara, Gendry, 1 dragon.
Who fights the dragon? Nobody, I suppose.
And HBO wants their reruns watched.

You are seeing the full indoctrination of our society. Those things you listed are the most important things on the woke agenda.
I cancelled Netflix after the obummer rice connection was revealed. They are trying to destroy our society with social indoctrination.
TOTALLY agree. That story-line more than anything is SO completely contradictory to everything we've watched for the last 8 years..what a way to ruin a character completely.
Just like Jamie's character to a lesser extent..his story arc was going in a particular direction that they totally jettisoned in a single episode or two..and the whole story line in Ep4 (or was it 5?) with Brienne? Just one question..WHY?!! They only had 6 episodes. Why waste time with that story line, the 20+ minute post Winterfell battle drinking scene, the hang around the fire and tell Giant stories scene in Ep2, etc?
Just weak writing all around this season. Very disappointing after 6 very strong years and a decent 7th.
The ending is supposed to be “bittersweet”, but I haven’t seen any “sweet” - just “bitter”.
Most of the character’s story arcs, choices, and sacrifices seem to be rather pointless.
My boot drive died on my computer yesterday and it won’t be fixed until Monday at the earliest, perhaps longer. I’ll have to avoid all forms of media until I can get it working and download the final. Or I could just watch a recap on YouTube. I don’t think the final is going to be that good. The problem is I have committed so much time to the series it would be a shame to miss the final episode.

That kind of connection to so many folks, is what makes the whole hurried mess of an ending so much the worse.
I did see on Reddit tho, a post noting that the worse the writing gets, the better the memes get, rueful smile.
