Simple. After three years of being told, by people who are obviously inferior, that we are racist, greedy and stupid, because we don't want to share everything we've worked for our whole life, a limit has been reached.
We are a few months from a mass killing. It's infuriating and depressing. Selfishness in pursuit of "Fairness" is the ultimate hypocrisy.

You are referring to the Area 51 thing?
I cycle extensively in NYC and prefer it to trains in Manhattan. You must do it very defensively due to so many distracted people.
I never pass a parked car going fast unless I see it is empty. If it is tinted, I assume the door can open any moment and ring the bell before passing slowly.
If a street seems too narrow for cars to easily pass me, I avoid riding there. I’ll just walk the bike if no other route.
Sure I may get around slower than riders that take chances. But I’ve never had any close calls and been riding for decades.
Tomorrow I am pimping my new bicycle to a new style of handlebar and seat. From trekking to cruiser, because I enjoy a sweet ride more than speed. Though I do like going downhill.
I mean Thursday.

There is a guy I see several times a month riding his bike on the busy road I take that leads to the freeway. It has no bike lane but he decided that the right lane will do. He will be killed one day because of his stupidity.
People don’t realize how dangerous biking is.
“But bikes have to be careful, because they really are the low man on the totem pole here, as far as safety and rights.”
As a pedestrian I feared bicyclists more than cars.
Sorry I asked.
They have moved the car parking off the curb and out into the street creating a bike lane on the inside passenger side of the car. Bike riders now use both the bike lane and the street lane in both directions. Throw in the fact that many of the rental bikes and delivery bikes are e bikes with e standing for electric which makes them motorbikes and its total mayhem. I ride and drive and have been hit by a cab making a crazy last minute turn The fact that there is almost no enforcement of bikes is ridiculous. Some millennial who got an A in civic planning in college and went to Holland once shouldnt be setting city policy.
New York City is the only city where I refuse to jaywalk. As for riding a bike there...no way,Jose!
You ride a bike in Manhattan? Would you,by any chance,be willing to make me the beneficiary of your life insurance policy?
18 deaths is bad but Beijing goes through that in a lunch hour
Let me know if you want on the Bicycle Ping List.
**My city is designed well, road-wise, ***
Several of our local cities have decided to make the roads safer for bikers. They put small dividers in the road to give bikers their own lane. Unfortunately this also made the auto roads narrower, and very dangerous.
On other rural paved roads they put up signs warning drivers to give “Three feet” to the bikers. Problem is the bikers like to take their three feet in the middle of the lane.
A few days ago I saw bikers using their three feet in the ONCOMING lane, going the wrong way.
I actually just saw a guy riding by on a radwagon this morning. That is funny.
