What happens when green eye shade non-engineers run the show.

Yes, MCAS is horribly flawed and given full authority to put the plane into an uncontrollable dive. In the Ethiopian Air case, the plane was not far off the ground and recovery was impossible.

Simulators with highly experienced pilots resulted in crashes as well, demonstrating that it was not pilot skill or the fact that the crashes took place in third world nations.

But some wish to cling to false notion that US or EU pilots would do better.

In North America, Europe, and the wealthy Asian countries...

500,000 flights.

Not one crash.

Not one close call.

Not one official incident report about any problems with the MCAS software or hardware, or any sudden nose drops at low altitudes.

Boeing’s bigger problem with this plane is the longer this drags on the more and more the public will lose confidence in the plane. If the flying public reject the plane...and actively book themselves around these planes as best they can... the entire plane will have to be scrapped and they will be forced to start over from the ground up.

Closing in on a year since this thing was grounded and certainly isn’t looking like it’s going to be back in the air soon

And how many of the single sensor model of the plane were purchased by US carriers?????

Stop tryin for lay this at the pilots feet. Boeing has been caught flat out lying to regulators about this plane and not training or even informing pilots about this software and what it did.

Stop the arrogant nonsense that it was bad piloting that caused this the facts do NOT back you up on this

Re: Simulators with highly experienced pilots resulted in crashes as well, demonstrating that it was not pilot skill or the fact that the crashes took place in third world nations.

The simulator was programed to do exactly what the Ethiopian pilot (who had just 200 hours of MAX experience) did.

The test was to see if experienced first world pilots could pull the plane out of the fatal dive caused by the Ethiopian pilot.

By the way, the Ethiopian government refused to allow Boeing or the NTSB to inspect the crash site, the flight recorders, the alleged faulty equipment, the maintenance logs, or the wreckage, for at least two weeks.

Evidence tampering?

All four pilots were Muslims, who have developed a bad habit of committing suicide while flying airplanes.

The crash in Indonesia is the second time in two years that a Muslim pilot has crashed a passenger jet into the ocean.

In addition, there are active Muslim terrorist cells in both Indonesia and Ethiopia.

Re: Stop the arrogant nonsense that it was bad piloting that caused this

I have never argued that it was bad piloting.

I have pointed out the interesting fact that no planes in non-Muslim countries have ever had a similar problem.

It’s possible it’s bad piloting - I have no idea.

It’s also possible these were Muslim pilots committing suicide. I think the confirmed number is up to five in the last 20 years, plus two more that are not confirmed.

It’s possible there was defective maintenance.

It’s possible there was deliberate sabotage.

It’s possible this is a highly sophisticated scam put together by expert lawyers and engineers to severely damage Boeing or to harvest hundreds of millions of dollars in legal fees.

You talk like a Rent Seeker, Hamilton.

It’s demoralizing to meet people like you at Free Republic.

Your tin foil is a bit tight.

This is a Boeing screw-up. Just admit it to yourself and stop looking for conspiracy theories. Not everything in life is linked to jihadists.

Plenty of US and EU pilots have expressed their shock at the details of the MCAS system and the reckless design that was not shared fully with pilots.

I was watching an episode of ‘Air Disasters’, think it was the United 800 crash off Long Island.
Thought they said high voltage and low voltage wiring was in the same bundle. Caused a LV fuel sensor wiring in the center tank to short out with HV wires.

Hard to imagine Boeing would have high and low voltage in the same bundle. That’s a no-no in Energy Management computer controlled systems, among other systems.

Hard to imagine that you believed that flight 800 center fuel tank propaganda.

How does that disorder theory explain blast damage from the exterior of the fuselage?

...or the clear high speed penetrating evidence to the right side in front of the wing.

A novice can see these things plainly in the reconstruction” the fuselage.

Or, why was the NTSB removed from the investigation and the Eff Be eye put I charge?

While we can speculate about who, or what brought it down, it was NOT caused by a spark in the fuel tank.

Respectfully,
whisper

Please ignore the state run propaganda reports.

Re: Plenty of US and EU pilots have expressed their shock

Well, that settles the issue.

Would took them so long to get upset?

They flew the MAX for more than 4 months after the first crash - with no crashes, close calls, or incident reports.

The FAA did not even ground the plane until a couple days after the second crash.

Sorry - I reject your theory that senior engineers and executives at Boeing, at the FAA, and at plane insurance companies are criminal psychotics.

What exactly was their plan?

“Gosh, if a plane crashes, maybe no one will notice?”

Sigh.

Look, this plane was sold in aversion that only used 1 Sensor to trigger MCAS... This is a model of the plan that should have NEVER EVER been certified for flight. This was a single point of failure... Without flagrantly lying intentionally or by omission would a commercial craft with a known signal point of failure be certified for flight.... It was because BOEING FLAT OUT LIED TO THE FAA... PERIOD.

Now, this model of the plane was the cheapest model offered, the dual sensor was an “upgrade” and both planes that crashed were this base model... Which I am willing to bet you, dollars to donuts, probably wasn’t purchased by many if any US carriers. That doesn’t mean Muslims were committing suicide.. seriously..

Boeing lied to the FAA, and LIED TO PILOTS By OMISSION:

https://leehamnews.com/2018/11/14/boeings-automatic-trim-for-the-737-max-was-not-disclosed-to-the-pilots/

The repeated problems they found during testing where the TRIM would engage when it should not, even in the simulators was COVERED UP by BOEING

https://apnews.com/822e02570983487f8cac3b43fd9defcb

Trying to pawn this off as, oh it was Muslim Terrorists is ignorant and nonsense..

Have pilots committed suicide by crashing planes? Yes, it has happened, and its happened with non muslims behind the yolk... but that isn’t what happened in either of these incidents and your implication that that was the cause is just flat out ignorant.

BOEING ENGAGED IN CRIMINAL MALFEASANCE to get these planes certified, and covered up its actions... Stop trying to blame this on something else that isn’t there.

There are people within Boeing that should be facing 350+ counts of Second Degree Murder, and others that should be facing RICO and Conspiracy Charges for covering things up. Sadly, I won’t hold my breath on it happening, because they have many powerful folks in congress in their back pockets.

Sorry - I reject your theory that senior engineers and executives at Boeing, at the FAA, and at plane insurance companies are criminal psychotics.

Nobody claimed that. So, please spare us the menstrual hysteria.

Boeing rushed the Max so the Airbus Neo would not get a big lead in sales. MCAS was a band-aid to avoid a new rating type.

It was engineering incompetence and a lack of testing.

Plenty of pilots spoke out on the lack of information being provided. Plenty of pilots pointed out the inconsistencies in Boeing documentation. Plenty of pilots expressed concern in advance and after the Lion Air crash.

Plain and simple, Boeing rushed the Max and screwed up. The FAA did not do its oversight job thoroughly.

Re: spare us the menstrual hysteria

Spare me the dopey junior high school invective.

Your comments read like the opening statement from a corrupt prosecutor or a corrupt bureaucrat.

Unlike you, I will make my conclusions AFTER I hear Boeing’s defense.
