Helpful to know about the diamond princess shift. I felt like I was taking crazy pills.
Gas prices falling here and I have seen no product shortages other than N95 masks (west coast, USA). I imagine shortages will begin to occur soon.
Our Walmart has some bare shelves (whole rows) but this is because they are swapping over from winter to spring inventory, like every other year at this time.

Singapore:
A woman who was previously admitted as a dengue patient tested positive for the Covid-19 infection on Tuesday afternoon.
The 57-year-old Singaporean is one of three new cases revealed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) yesterday. The tally of confirmed cases now stands at 84.
MOH said the woman, who is Case 82, had no recent travel history to China and reported symptoms on Feb 9.
She sought treatment at Jurong Polyclinic, a general practitioner and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) from Feb 10 to 14 before she was admitted to a general ward for dengue at NTFGH on Feb 15.
She was isolated once she was confirmed to be infected by the Covid-19 virus.
The woman lives in Jurong West 41, which is next to two dengue clusters.
Comment: so this woman lives near a dengue cluster but they thought to test her for Coronavirus. I hope that people are thinking along these lines for flu as well. A Coronavirus patient can also have the flu

I, for one, really appreciate your efforts in keeping us informed. This virus has me concerned since I’m an older person. If this goes away I’ll feel lost. Sure hope you reconsider. It may be hard to ignore the trolls but you have whatever support I could muster. I don’t know what that could be but the sheer volume of information and content in these threads is important to many FReepers.
It is not too bad to touch anything, menus, table tops etc. if you then do not touch your eye or nose or mouth with that hand. Your skin on the hand is pretty tough and germs can not penetrate it, but if you touch any wet area, bam, the germs are inside your body.

Has anybody seen an update from the person who knew one of the critical patients from the Diamond Princess (a woman?) or have an update on how any of these people are doing? I saw it jumped to 28 today.

I’d guess his two-hour standoff with Customs was what led to the CDC issuing guidance late yesterday that nobody from the cruise ship could enter until they’d been symptom-free for 14 days (and how do you prove that unless you’ve been in quarantine?)
His is the same beat-the-system behavior we saw with the first videos I put up over two weeks ago about ppl bragging they’d beat the china restriction by flying to Taiwan or Dubai and then to the US, and hoping the customs guy didn’t check their passport too closely - because the CDC is still only embargoing people from China.

SEOUL, Feb. 19 (Yonhap) — South Korea confirmed 22 new cases of the novel coronavirus Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections here to 53, with most new patients traced to church services, stoking concerns that the country may identify more virus patients despite tighter quarantine measures.
According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) and local government officials, 20 of the new patients are in Daegu, a city 300 kilometers southeast of Seoul, and in adjacent North Gyeongsang Province.
The country’s 31st patient, probably a coronavirus “super spreader,” is believed to have infected at least 15 others and came in contact with 166 people. The 61-year-old woman, a Daegu resident, started to complain of a fever on Feb. 10 and was confirmed to be infected Tuesday.
