I’d like to know exactly how old she was. I’ve seen too many reporters who are sloppy with the facts.

That's what I find disturbing.
If she was being abused AND, it wasn't her family or family friends, who did the Spielbergs trust their child with? Why didn't they notice anything in her behavior? I can understand a young child being scared and remaining silent but parents should notice changes.
I never understand how parents can be so distant for their children they don't suspect something.

Just so you know, being a survivor of sexual abuse is a real badge of honor these days. It justifies their “mental health” and drug use. Everyone talks about it now, including men.

If it wasn't family for family friends the Spielbergs should have a pretty good idea who they trusted their child with.
If she doesn't want to tell her parents who they should ask what age the abuse began. It would be easy to narrow down who the abuser(s) could be.
Of course, she could have mental health issues and believe she was abused. Recovering 'false memories' during therapy is all-too common.

If this young woman is borderline, then she’s put them through hell and back and since she’s an adult, they cannot make her choices for her
All they can do is love her and keep her as “ safe” as possible by not rejecting her
I believe that some of these choices and behaviors are genetically inherited, going to bet her birth mother had similar issues

Sometimes the only peace that comes is deciding that whatever mission in life you were given regarding a child like this...is to try to love without judgement

My best friend and his wife adopted two twin girls around 1 year old 30 years ago. Parents had drug issues and gave them up.
Those girls were never right from day 1 and eventually dropped out of school, promiscuity and drugs and my friend were ideal loving parents.
I remember telling my parents when the girls were 4 years old they were not right.
This girl hasn’t much going for her in the looks department.
