Hyland’s Leg Cramp Medicine contains quinine

Once a known and available treatment is used that works, this will end. Seems like sooner rather than later.

Stop their paychecks until the scare is over.
That may help their sense of urgency.

“I did the math on this earlier, you would have to drink a gallon and a half of tonic water to hit the medical dose level.”
That’s less than I would have thought.

Tonic water has been unavailable for a few days already.
...
I dont think modern tonic water has enough quinine to be a tonic for any illness. But that wont stop people from panic buying every bottle they can find.
I posted this to the thread at large, but I'll respond to y'all specifically discussing it. Cinchona bark can be hard to find, I'd suggest getting the bigger chunks, as the small ones apparently tend to powder-ize by the time they get to you, and you don't want to OD on quinine. (Use a couple coffee filters [paper ones] when you strain it.) FYI, I am definitely not a gin person, but the Gin n Tonics I made with this were pretty damn tasty!

I did the math on this earlier, you would have to drink a gallon and a half of tonic water to hit the medical dose level.
That depends entirely on the levels of quinine in your drink. Most commercially available tonic waters have miniscule to zero quinine in them. Try my links above, you'll have a tonic syrup that's much tastier than the store stuff, and it'll have a bigger kick of quinine as well.
