At that time he had 8,000 ft of track on two levels. With the various switching yards, he said he had stations for up to 45 operators at one time.
Yes, he belonged to model RR club.
Americana for the win, and happy caboose hunting!
I’m aware of some of these technologies. As a starting point, I plan to run only one train on the layout I’m planning to build, but I’ve included passing/runaround tracks on either side of the oval. If I do it right, the wiring scheme I have in mind can easily be converted to DCC if I feel the need to run two trains on this layout.
And since I’m starting off with an interior door for my benchwork, I already planned on topping it off with a sheet of foam insulaion. If nothing else, it’s an easy way to cover the hole where the doorknob goes! I haven’t decided yet whether any of my scenery features will go “below ground level” at this point, but this does give me the option.
Mine too. I’ve also discovered that not having the time wasn’t the reason I don’t clean the blinds or the oven.
I used to run into a guy at the train shop who had a layout that cost over a quarter million. I think he alone kept that shop open for many years.
Funny, but I pulled out an old Lionel set and started doing the same during this quarantine. Here Is a great website that I found for guidance, tips and some great inspiration - https://ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/forum/3-rail-forum
Im actually enjoying this new hobby.
Anyone in a Texas model RR club would know who he is.
I would not be a good fit.
I would be more like Gomez Adams and crash the trains.
I was always making models from when I was a kid. Just finished a Tamiya M-10 Tank Destroyer. 1/35 scale. Tamiya makes the best model kits to work with.
Good to know...
It’a good time to:
1. check and clean the dryer vent.
2. check for termites under the house.
3. go into the attic to check for leaks when it rains.
4. back up your PC.
5. back up your Ipads.
6. vacuum under and behind the furniture.
Homer Price, I thought I was the only one that read those books as a kid. The Donut Machine gave me the same cravings as Sambo getting chased by the tiger around the tree until the tiger turned into butter, always had to have pancakes after that.
