Disney is in trouble right now.
All parks world wide are shut down. That's 36% of their revenue. The new toys weren't selling. Movie theaters are shut down. ESPN is a ghost town. They'll take a $700 million hit on the NBA. Disney+ was expected to lose millions this year, anyway.
The $5 billion they spent on Star Wars isn't close to being recouped (quick aside, George Lucas gets a cut on toy sales based on characters from the first six movies. That's why they created BB8, Kylo Ren, etc. They were knock off characters that were supposed to sell toys without having to give a cut to Lucas.)
They spent over $50 billion to acquire FOX. Every FOX property they've released has been a bomb. The Simpsons is ten years past it's expiration date, and Disney took on a ton of debt to acquire it.
Marvel comic sales are so bad, Disney will probably shut it down. After End Game, there's nothing left, so they're trying to sell third rate characters (Natalie Portman as Thor) lesbian queen running Asgard, Brie Larsen as the new face of the franchise.
Mulan was made for their new Chinese overlords, and it won't even get released. Onward was a flop before the virus scare.
Less than a week after closing the parks, the mouse borrowed six billion dollars for debt financing. Borrowing money to finance debt is not the sign of a healthy company. While the parks are closed, they're changing menus at their restaurants to reflect new pricing. At one of the restaurants, a burger is $19 now, up from $13. That's a desperation move.
Disney has a good chance of either crashing or having to sell off a lot of properties at a discount.
Weirdly enough, the pink haired mafia was what killed Star Wars. It was what killed the comics end of Marvel, it's what's going to kill the movie end of Marvel, and it could possibly be what deals a fatal blow to the mouse.
Yay Disney! Get woke, go broke. Now just need to see the demise of Comcast (NBC Universal, which includes CPUSA party organ MSNBC) and AT&T, owner of CPUSA party organ CNN.
