...It is real fast and easy to draw out of your pocket like one or two seconds faster than a compact 1911...

If you are going to carry it in your pocket:

1. Use a pocket holster.

2. Blow it out with compressed air every month or it will eventually collect enough lint to possibly stop working.

Serious advantage goes to Ruger here. The design has no side plate and it is possible for most people to disassemble the gun far enough to really clean out the working parts with a compressor and air gun.

The Smith has a side plate and unless you know exactly what you are doing and how to do it, take it to a gunsmith to have the internal parts cleaned and lubed.

If you have not seen how to do it, side plate removal will usually screw it up no end.

I’m with you. Love the pre ‘82 pinned barrel and recessed chambers. I just don’t want to carry them and add to some cop’s collection in case I have to use them and they get confiscated. That’s why I go with Ruger LCRX. Great double action trigger.

I was amazed to see that it's permitted in Maryland. Looks like a great revolver

If the no-lock version is in the standard catalog, that’s great. I know they make special runs of them.

We had them in stock when I last worked two weeks ago, probably don’t now.
At one point, I heard they had run out of guns.
Thank God the trucks are still running.

I concur on the 649.
Stainless steel handles the recoil much better.
Shrouded hammer offers single action.

I pocket carry a 442 with the cylinder reamed for 9mm on moon clips. After a few thousand rounds through it and a few thousand more dry fired, the trigger is pretty good. I use a desantis nemesis pocket holster, works well. Recently got a ruger lcr in 9mm for tge same purpose. The trigger was as good brand new as my broken in Smith. I think it will replace it. I pocket carry the snubbie more than anything else right now

“Revolvers are

To clarify I was referring to self defense against humans. They are fine for big game hunting and bear defense although these days 10 mm autos are becoming more popular.

I would agree with you a pocket holster works well
I bought the one called Sticky and it works as intended
it stays in the pocket and it also holds the gun upright and makes pulling it out easier. I bought it to keep the gun clean and dust free

clean it ? I have never done that , now that you mention it maybe I will blow it off with an air compressor. I had no idea you could take it apart.

and to anyone who says the trigger is better on a ruger your likely right as the trigger is fairly stiff to the point of possibly making it harder to be accurate

I had a model 649, .357, stainless steel, shrouded hammer.
Great little gun, another one I should have hung onto, sigh.
