Les Lye was a lucky guy!

(Interesting career, former cohort of Rich Little)

Morissette’s ninth album, “Such Pretty Forks in the Road,” was originally set for release May 1 but has been postponed until the fall due to the coronavirus pandemic.

When I first heard her material on the radio in 94, I referred to her as “bitter bitch”.

If it’s as bad as she says, why aren’t female artists and caring male artists screaming about this every chance they get? Why are they not making PSAs warning young girls to stay out of the business? Is fame and fortune so importanted that sexual assault is considered an employment tax? From their actions, I would have to say that fame and fortune override everything for those people.

For what it’s worth, I think the entire entertainment industry is filled with perverts and communists. As bad as we think it is, it’s probably much worse.

Remember when men would support women who pointed out the ugly side of humanity? Those were great days.

Now, it still happens from time to time. Like when Harvey Weinstein was outed as a disgusting POS, Epstein etc. Everyone could get behind that effort. It also launched a catharsis, where people who may have been in that mix a while ago, asked for forgiveness. As a priest once said at church, our Lord forever pines away for us, to come to him seeking forgiveness.

When Bubba and Clinton Inc. tried to silence his victims, and now with Creepy Joe and his victim not getting the time of day from people who jumped all over Kavanaugh, we call them out. And rightly so.

So...I bet that if Alanis said she was abused by Biden, the same guys mocking her on this board would be hoisting her on their shoulders. So why in the wide world of sports are so many normally-Deplorable men bashing Alanis, for the simple act of SAYING what she said?

And I'm not even talking about the sandwich commentary, which I haven't heard since 9th grade. Really? When did this become DU?

True, evil lurks in the arts, but also in business, and pretty much everywhere. So sure, the world of the arts doesn't hold a monopoly on immorality. But, my Lord and for those non-believers morality in general demands that Men of good character and fiber (and Women but work with me) stand up to (and, in a time far, far away, beat the piss out of) these predators AND champion and, if need be, help the women in their sights. It's not a sign of weakness to acknowledge that evil lurks in the world.

Yes, let's not condemn all men. However, let's also not act like Dems who pick and choose which class of individuals to champion and then kick to the curb depending upon which way the political winds are blowing.

All the king makers in the entertainment industry, along with their peons, are liberals who will be voting for Sleepy Joe.

And that includes this complaining woman.

Autotune makes me laugh. I never listen to any recordings that use it anyway, so it’s not around me so much as to start annoying me. It never covers up shortcomings in a live performance.

It doesn't matter. Canada isn't a major music market so you can hit it big in Canada and still be a nobody. The Tragically Hip is a good example of a band that is hugely popular in Canada but nobody in America cares about them.

You can be very successful outside of America and never crack the market (Kylie Minogue and Cliff Richard are good examples) but America is the Big Show.

When I first heard her material on the radio in 94, I referred to her as “bitter bitch”.

Her bigest hit, "Ironic" was ironic in the fact that it was a song about irony that didn't have one ironic thing in it.

I wasn’t being snarky. I was wondering if we were the only two who knew who she was.

Okay, misunderstanding. She did have a reputation, and she looked like hell when I met her.

This was at the Savannah Jazz Festival. We had just finished playing, and she was up next. I still had my horn with me as I talked to her, sorta hoping she'd ask me to play.

But, union rules being what they were...
