I have heard that iguanas are good eating.
Maybe we ought to use them to alleviate the meat shortage.
Been here for a while:
Right down the road from me.
I saw a video made by two guys in Florida who were attempting to trap them in a big net spread on the ground filled with fruits next to a canal..........The damn iguanas were were coming out of the ditch like night crawlers in the lawn on a warm rainy night. There were at least 20 of them at the bait or walking toward it.....
I don't know how to cook but I would gladly participate in the shooting of these things..........
What’s really bad about the Aoudad is no natural predators, they can survive with little to no water and one hell of an immune system. They’ll have two lams a year and there’s a 95% chance they reach maturity. Down around Big Bend they have pretty good crop of Mountain lions but they don’t even put a dent in the population. Big rams will go over 300 lbs, no predators in this area id a threat.
If I was to do a head count I suspect we’ve got over 100 on the place and that number seems to increase by about 35 to 40 percent each year. At some point I’m going to have to deal with them, but since they stay up in the mountains they don’t threaten the whitetails or the cattle. I’ve never shot one but outfitters in the Big Bend area are charging 3500 to 5000 for a big 30+ inch ram. I’ve got 3 pushing 35 inches, they’ll bring over 5000.

Beside having to deal with exoti’s on the ranch we also have to deal with feral hog’s.

And the photos at your link!!!
As a hunter (mostly pheasant and white tale deer); I’m not wild about trophy hunting.
If you eat it that’s fine.
Of all the wild game I’ve eaten Aoudad is the worst, many times they’re just shot and left where they are. I know that sounds brutal but they’re nothing more than a destructive pest that never should have been introduced into the US.
