This is going to change the insurance industry in these dumps (and possibly elsewhere) forever.
A few years back someone in my family was treated for an injury, and the insurance company sent a lot of paperwork seeing if there was any way to sue anyone to recover their costs; I’d expect the same reaction from the insurance companies here.
In cases where stores were burned, I know that you pay lower fire insurance premiums if you have a paid department as opposed to a volunteer one. How does the insurance company just “eat it” when the paid department isn’t able to do its job? That eventuality wasn’t even priced into the policies (though I’m sure now it will be).

I believe that damage caused by riots and acts of war or insurrection are specifically excluded. Mrs. L is in the is insurance business.
