From ad-infested websites to autoplaying videos and an endless array of pop-up provocations, its a wonder anyone makes it through the day without going completely berserk. It doesnt have to be that way, though.
Nope. You can go to FreeRepublic.com for your news. No ad infestations. No autoplaying videos. No endless array of pop-up provocations.
Here you only go berserk from the daily flood of leftist lunacy infecting our nation.

I use Irfanview to open my photos. FREE https://www.irfanview.com
When an image is in the WebP format it will display an error but I can click on save and it saves as a .jpg or .gif type as examples and now opens along with showing a thumbnail of the image.

American Thinker made me disable my ad blocker and now I get a massive headache every time I go there. I use the MVPS HOSTS file which I edit to add or remove links.

They missed one: Install a profanity filter on your browser. It makes the internet much more pleasant. Below are links to a good one. You can customize the filtered words. And you can customize replacement words. For example, it can display “Pelosi” as “Pignosey.” Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/advanced-profanity-filter/piajkpdbaniagacofgklljacgjhefjeh?hl=en Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/advanced_profanity_filter/ Thanks!

The annoyance: Secure and encrypted website connections are now the norm, but some older or less actively maintained sites still havent gotten on the HTTPS bandwagonwhich isnt optimal, to say the least, especially if youre on a public Wi-Fi network where someone could theoretically snoop on your activity.
The answer: The Electronic Frontier Foundation has a fantastic extension called HTTPS Everywhere, available for both Chrome and Firefox. Once installed, it ensures all traffic in your web browsing adventure is properly encrypted, even if a site itself isnt taking the proper measures.
This isn't correct. Sites that don't support HTTPS can't use it, they're still a basic HTTP protocol. All HTTPS Everywhere does is attempt to use HTTPS whenever you load a page, if the link didn't have it or something like that. But it won't "force encryption" on sites that don't support it...

3. An error occurred. Please try again later. Im guessing your ad blocker is preventing the display of an ad, but you still have to wait for the 15 or 30 seconds for it to get to the video you want to see.
I've had this issue before, but it doesn't fix itself in 15-30 sec. Anytime it does it to me, a quick refresh (f5) reloads the page and it works fine. Couple seconds, tops.

The page refresh doesn’t work for me.
I would assume GoogleTube gets paid for delivering the ad even if I don’t see it.

The page refresh doesnt work for me.
Well that's about all I have for that particular problem. What browser are you running / do you have adblockers built in or add-ons?
I'm on Pale Moon with a couple add-ons, so something in my settings might make that work for me.
