An update...Many of you commented on this incident...

To use the copy machine at Staples, you usually use your credit/debit card...Or your Staples reward card...

I guess Staples turned over credit card records of people who used the copy machine at the time of crime... Name of Terri Thomas came up...The detectives probably checked her DMV photo...Or maybe her name was already in the police records for some reason...

I watched too many police dramas on TV...I also read too many novels by Michael Connelly...

Names of three detectives were mentioned...One is probably black...One is probably Greek...Han...That is probably Chinese or Korean...

Thanks for the update.

Masks are not a political issue.
Bizarre to see people defending this woman’s boorishness.

of all the incidents we see, this one is not clear cut...the 54 yro made a wide swing with her cane at the other woman....I think I would have reacted as well....plus the woman gave her a shove....it was not the worse of the worse...

I noticed the names too. I guess that police dept. gets extra credit for showing diversity. Good work.

The only other Terri Thomas I recall, was a middle aged British comedian popular in the 1960’s. He had a gap in his front teeth, and he often used a long black cigarette holder.
One of his best known American films was
“It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad World”

"Hackensack police encourages anyone who witnesses a crime or has information about one to reach out to CrimeStoppers"

How about encouraging people to stop telling others to wear a mask???

That’ll learn her to mind her own business.

the arrest of 25-year-old Terri Thomas. . . .

If you were wondering, yes, she is.

she broke her knee, which required a steel plate to be put in

If the doctor really used steel she won't be needing iron supplements for the rest of her life.

Somehow I think if you had just had a liver transplant and had a compromised immune system in the midst of a pandemic you might possibly react a tad too.

So you are excusing bad conduct? It’s a yes or no question.

You certainly are.
Or. more likely, you’re willing to say stupid things to get attention.

Kinda amazing how many weak minds the media has convinced to make this a political issue.

Yes, of course. But the famous British comedian and actor of whom you speak was named "Terry-Thomas."

The hyphen was supposed to represent his interdental gap. (But you don't seem to have much use for hyphens, do you?)

Had a very sad ending - was broke, living on the dole, suffering from severe dementia, and being cared for by his wife.

Regards,

How is this a political issue instead of a manners issue, Karen.

The victim told her to wear her mask, and the suspect became angry and started yelling.

There's no excuse for the violence, and the suspect deserved to be arrested and charged - that said, anyone bothering total strangers about masks is asking for trouble.

Some guy robbed a grocery store in our community many years ago. He went in to buy a pack of gum to trick the cashier into opening the drawer.

He only had a buck on him but the gum was over a dollar, but on sale that week with his shoppers card. So the cashier asked him for his card, which he promptly handed to her.

He robbed the store and left and when he got home found the police waiting for him.

Criminals are stupid.
