i as so let down by this movie...saw it on Christmas the year of its release...fell asleep not even half way thru....for whatever reason, Coppola changed Michaels whole personality, from cracking one liners to his bizarre spiked hair...film is beyond repair.

Exactly, the Michael of GF III bore little resemblence to the one from the first two GF movies.

the first 2 really relied on composites of of real life gangsters and characters...which made the films fascinating and realistic. He should have stuck to that...brought it up to date to the John Gotti era...and the battles with Rudy Guiliani etc....

GF III could have been done right but is lazy movie trash. GF I and II are pretty much a movie symphony and one element which I watch end to end.

Imagine a Goodfellas II. Somethings need to be left alone.
